What’s New in Daily Holes — Changelog
Updates to Daily Holes: new hazards, versioned physics, shot guidance, the interactive lesson, languages, leaderboards and fixes, newest first.
1 October 2026 — Background music
Turning sound on now also starts quiet background music, composed live in your browser for each course: bright for the alpine club, slow with rolling waves on the coast, soft with birdsong in the pinewood. Music has its own switch in the menu if you prefer only the sound effects, and it pauses while the tab is in the background.
1 October 2026 — Coastal links, Pinewood and today’s nine
Each day’s course now takes one of three looks, chosen from the date like everything else: the original alpine club, Coastal Links with sandy fescue, dunes and a sea view, or Pinewood with a mossy forest floor and tall pines. Only the scenery changes — holes, hazards and physics are identical, so scores stay comparable. The home menu also shows today’s nine at a glance: each hole’s special feature, the gust holes, the crossing, the windiest hole and the strongest gust.
1 October 2026 — Better sharing and app icons
Links to Daily Holes now show a proper preview image on social networks and messaging apps. The game has a full set of icons and can be added to a phone’s home screen. This guide section, the hazard guides and the about page were added.
30 September 2026 — Interactive lesson and smoother mobile play
A short interactive lesson walks through aiming, power and the green before your first round. On phones, tapping the course now confirms the sweeping angle instead of moving the aim, the shot controls fit the screen and practice rounds resume where you left them.
30 September 2026 — Shot guidance
The shot plan shows a likely landing area, a possible stopping area and the distance to nearby hazards. The PIN mark estimates the power needed to reach the flag after wind and the landing surface. Flights begin immediately and the stroke shown stays stable while the ball is moving.
30 September 2026 — New course rules (engine v3)
Courses from 30 September use a new engine. Each nine now contains island greens, a diagonal river with a bridge, a water crossing, a portal, a sweeping arm, links holes with cart paths and gusts on odd-numbered holes. Fairways change width along the hole, bunkers leave a bailout side and greens are scored with putting rings. Older rounds keep their original results.
30 September 2026 — Accounts, leaderboards and five languages
Google sign-in saves ranked rounds, replayed on the server. Daily and weekly leaderboards, friends, private groups, round replays and a target range were added, along with Irish, German, French and Spanish translations of the game and guides.
