Carry, rollout and timing
Club numbers describe carry on a clean lie. Ground rollout is separate: fairway and green keep the ball moving; rough and bunkers slow it down. The marker estimates the distance to the flag, but does not account for every hazard or gust. The gold band below 100 improves contact. Overswing adds distance with much greater sideways error.
Read the lie and plan a safe landing
Rough reduces carry to 84%, deep rough to 62%, and bunkers to 70%, capped at 160 yards. These lies also widen shot dispersion. Water adds one penalty. Island and river holes use a marked drop area; crossings return to a previous island. Out of bounds returns to the previous ball position.
Finish inside the scoring rings
There is no manual putting in new rounds. The ball must stop on the green: the gold ring adds one putt, the pale ring two, the remaining green three. Steeper greens have smaller rings. A ball can land on the green and roll into water, so allow room for rollout. A direct chip into the cup adds no putts.
Explore each hole before swinging
Drag to pan and use Recenter to return to the ball. Bridges and cart paths give long rollout; cart paths guide the roll along their direction. A gust affects flights crossing its band. Portals move the ball forward; a sweeping arm flings a ball resting in its circle. Watch the result before choosing your next line.
Scoring and saved rounds
Old unfinished rounds restart on the upgraded course, with their original progress kept as a backup. Completed historical results stay unchanged; current rankings use the current engine only.
Use practice to learn one thing at a time
Start with one club and compare a gentle, medium and strong shot. Next, practise the same idea from rough or sand. The five-shot target range rewards proximity, with up to 1,000 points per shot; a penalty shot earns zero. Sign in before starting if you want ranked progress saved across devices. Your first completed daily result is final. Guest results stay on the device and cannot be turned into ranked scores later. Review your own shot history to identify a recurring mistake, then practise that specific situation.
Questions before your next round
When does the daily golf course change?
At midnight UTC. The date determines all nine holes, wind and hazards, so players on the same date share the same challenge.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Guest play works in the browser. Sign in before starting to save across devices and enter rankings; guest rounds are not uploaded later.
Why did my shot finish short?
Rough reduces carry to 84%, deep rough to 62%, and bunkers to 70%, capped at 160 yards. These lies also widen shot dispersion. Water adds one penalty. Island and river holes use a marked drop area; crossings return to a previous island. Out of bounds returns to the previous ball position.
Does changing language reset my round?
No. Language changes the interface, not the course or saved progress. Return to the menu and resume the round after switching.
Can I replay today's ranked round?
Your first completed daily result remains final. You can practise the completed daily course without replacing its ranked score.
What happens when the connection fails?
Return to the menu and resume to reload the server-saved round. Guest progress uses browser storage; clearing site data removes that local save.
